What does a typical design & build process looks like?


Haus Atelier is a full-service provider for building your dream home in Singapore. We understand that the process of building a house can be stressful and complicated, which is why we have streamlined and simplified the process to make it as smooth as possible!

As the main point of contact and overall project manager, we’ll work closely with you to design and conceptualize your ideal home, and then oversee the entire build process, including coordinating with designers, architects, and engineers.

At Haus Atelier, we pride ourselves on taking on the crucial role of builder and doing a significant amount of the work in-house with our staff. This gives us greater control over elements like budget and schedule and helps us avoid any surprises. We are fully equipped to handhold our clients through the entire process from start to finish and make sure that their building journey is as stress-free as possible.

1. Share Your Wishlist
During the initial consultation, we’ll hear about your wish list and your ideals for the new place and we’ll get our hands dirty and start the schematic design process together with you

2. Engage Our Services
If you are satisfied with the design intention, purpose and idea and wish to proceed, you’ll be asked to sign a contract and engage Haus Atelier’s services.

3. Design Process
Based on your input, the design team will create a concept design and drawings for your review and approval.

4. Costings Review
Once the design is finalized, the build team will provide you with a detailed quotation that includes all labour and materials costs, as well as a timeline estimate for completion.

5. Submissions Process
Depending on the scope of the project, we may need to obtain various permits and approvals from government agencies and utilities. Of course, we’ll handle this from start to finish.

6. Build Process
This is where the actual building work takes place. The build team will coordinate with all staff, subcontractors, and suppliers to ensure the project stays on schedule, on budget, and fulfils every one of your requirements.

7. Completion & Handover
Once the construction is complete, our team will take care of any final touches and hand over the completed space to you. This marks the end of the project and the start of any warranties or guarantees.

Minor renovation works typically refer to small-scale or cosmetic changes to a property, such as repainting, ceiling & partition works, plumbing & electrician works, replacing flooring, and many other minor projects. or installing new light fixtures. These types of renovations do not typically involve major structural changes or the addition of new rooms.
Haus Atelier is a Licensed GB1 Builder. Our bread and butter projects include extensive A&A, reconstruction, and new construction of houses. Aside from the heavy construction, our favorite projects include major renovations to old houses. If the internal bones of the house are good, a renovation rehaul would successfully transform any house into a gorgeous home without breaking the bank.
Renovating a property is definitely cheaper than Rebuilding one! The cost of submittals, hiring a team of professionals, land survey, and construction of structure are all omitted. All of the cost goes towards the physical touch and feel of the space, so you’ll get value for your buck!
Renovating a house is a complex process that requires expertise, organisation, and a diverse skill set. At Haus Atelier, we have the experience and flexibility to handle every aspect of your renovation project, from start to finish.

The timeline for a renovation project can vary depending on the scope of work and the number of spaces involved. In general, a renovation of a single area may be completed within 3 months but adding additional spaces or more complex work can increase the duration of the project. Most landed projects can take anywhere from 6 months to a year depending on Scope of Works. An entire house regut with plumbing, electrical and Air- Conditioning redone can take a year!
